| Note |
Facsimile in double columns. |
Numbered leaves i-x of facsimile printed on one side of leaf only. |
Text printed and facsimile of the commentary on St. Mark made at the University press, Oxford; facsimile of the commentary on the Psalms made in Milan. |
The two facsimile leaves at the end are a fragment of a commentary on the Gospel of Mark in the Biblioteca nazionale, Turin; classed F. IV. I. fasc. 7. The editor, with other authorities, believes this commentary is by the same writer as the Milan codex reproduced in this volume. |
The Milan commentary on the Psalms (C 301 inf.), formerly attributed to Columbanus, has more recently been considered the work of Theodorus, bishop of Mopsuestia, or Julianus, bishop of Eclanum, or possibly of both. cf. Introd. |
The Irish glosses - from internal evidence - are by Maelgaimrid (d. 339), Coirpre, Diarmait and others. |
